Astro Manufacturing & Design is a full-service customer manufacturer offering comprehensive manufacturing services for businesses in the medical, aerospace, automotive and other industrial and technology related industries.

History

Astro first began providing companies with quality manufacturing services in 1977.

Founded by Mike Watts, Sr. and three partners, Astro Manufacturing & Design was based upon the commitment to provide customers with high quality manufacturing and outstanding service. This principle was a cornerstone of the new company and, over time, drove Astro to improve customer support by aggressively expanding capabilities and service offerings. Because of this bold expansion of services, Astro today boasts CNC & manual machining, sheet metal fabricating, plastics, rapid prototyping, painting, product development, engineering design, assembly and numerous other vital manufacturing services.

As the company continued to grow throughout the eighties and nineties, Mike Watts, Sr. eventually acquired sole ownership. In 1999, his son Mike Watts, Jr. took over the role of president of Astro Manufacturing & Design. His vision and management initiatives have continued to lead the company into the new millennium. The original goals of the company remain as we continue to seek achievement of high levels of customer satisfaction and continued growth and expansion in the years to come.

Facilities

Over the years, Astro has experienced steady growth in its production and service offerings. As a result, the company has had to physically expand to accommodate expanding business levels. Today, Astro has five well-equipped facilities throughout Northeastern Ohio.

Located in Eastlake, Ohio, Astro's 142,000 square foot corporate headquarters houses a variety of state-of-the-art machining and fabricating technology, from high tech Rapid Prototyping processes like Stereo-lithography and Selective Laser Sintering to the latest in CNC machining equipment. This headquarters also is the work place of some of Northeast Ohio's most talented manufacturing personnel. Our employees are experienced and highly trained and can help guide you with suggestions and input that will help maximize your project's efficiency, while often lowering costs.
